Day 25 in Greece - 2023

Moving


We wake up and go to Alexandros one last time for breakfast and coffee before leaving Peraia. I'm going to miss this place and look for a similar one everywhere I go from this moment forward in my life.


Our things are already packed in the rental car, and we drive over to City Center in Thessaloniki where the new VRBO is. The new apartment is on the lowest level of an apartment building. It's actually partially in the ground, and Jeremiah and I both have to duck a bit to get inside due to the overhangs above the window and door. We enter the new apartment and there's a bottle full of candies and a welcome letter from the owners - how sweet!

City Center


We finish moving our stuff inside, and decide to go look around the shops that are down the street from the apartment. We keep wandering, getting further from the apartment, but it feels good to just explore.


We walk down to Aristotelous Square, finding a beautiful park near it, and discover there's a Starbucks here. We go inside, order coffees, and we find a Greece ornament to add to my collection! I am very excited.

Port Thessaloniki


We stop at a few more shops on our way down to the port. Λιμάνι της Θεσσαλονίκης (Port Thessaloniki) seems to not only be a functioning port, but home to several museums. One of those museums is the Thessaloniki Museum of Photography, part of "MOMus" (Metropolitan Organisation of Museums).


We go into the Museum of Photography and they are featuring the works of Christos Dikeakos. I wish I could say that I was impressed or moved by his works, but unfortunately I just didn't get it. I did like a few of the images, but some of them had missed focus, and some were composites but were not noted as such.

Back to the VRBO


We make our way back toward the VRBO, stopping at a few stores on the way back, and then bum for the remainder of the evening.
