Day 1 in Greece - 2023
Good Morning
I wake up around 1:00pm, exhausted from my travels the day and a half prior. My feet are swollen, so I want to take it easy today, get my feet up, and ensure the swelling goes down. There's just one thing that I absolutely have to accomplish - buy groceries.
Grocery Shopping in Greece
Google shows me that there is a grocery store a short distance away. I grab my re-usable shopping bags that I had packed and walk to the store. The grocery store is called ΣΚΛΑΒΕΝΙΤΗΣ (Slavenitis). I end up buying chicken, salmon, prawns, spinach, mushrooms, potatoes, eggs, bread, and nutella. They speak enough English that it is't difficult for me to shop. Oh, and I buy a huge jug of water. As I'm scanning items at the register, I see these very small Starbucks drinks. I decide to impulse purchase one of those as well. Look how cute they are!
Resting in the VRBO
I walk back to the VRBO and unpack my groceries. I make myself some eggs to eat. I settle onto the sofa and open Netflix up on the television - there must be something for me to watch. It recommends a show to me called Maestro in Blue. It ends up being a Greek drama, but I really enjoy it! I binge-watch it in the few hours I have before I start work.
I work through the evening, taking a lunch break (or in this case, a dinner break) to make the salmon to eat. I end my work day at 2am in Greece. I close my laptop, video call Jeremy, and then I crawl into bed. I am not tired yet, so I stay up watching a friend stream on Twitch. I fall asleep around 4:00am.
