Day 10 in Greece - 2024

Breakfast

We wake up and decide to go have breakfast at a place we saw yesterday on our walk - The Bohemian Journey. Their paper placemats are cool, so we take them to put in the scrapbook. Jeremy has eggs Benedict, and I have a pancake with maple syrup.

A rustic wooden live edge table with red cushioned seating in a bright modern space with palm trees visible outside.

Journey on Foot

We walk from The Bohemian Journey to the Three Bells of Fira. We walk along the path that goes along the edge of the city with the views down to the sea and beyond, stopping several times to take pictures. We make it to the Three Bells of Fira, and I take pictures of it from below and from the path above. We see this huge building on top of a hill that looks like a fort and we try to make our way up to it.

All of the paths up are blocked! We run into a construction site, and we are extremely delighted to find that they have donkeys! We also find a reptile within the bricks of a wall that we pass. Our journey up to the building on top of the hill has been thwarted, but it was a good adventure nonetheless.

Lunch + Ice Cream

We walk back to our hotel to take a break. I elevate my legs, and we play a few games of cribbage. Jeremy wins one, and I win one. Woo!

We then walk down to Pelican Kipos for lunch. We get seated in this area that feels like a green house. It is lovely. There's this beautiful stone wall with a green door that leads back to the kitchen, and I want to do something creative with it, so I take a picture. The original and the edited versions are below. Jeremy orders a waffle with turkey, bacon, and cheese. I order carbonara.

After lunch, we walk around the town square, and find an ice cream shop called Solo Gelato. I get one scoop of coffee gelato, and Jeremy gets two scoops - one coffee and one dark chocolate.

A charming stone wall with climbing ivy and green-framed windows creates a cozy cottage atmosphere.
Sunlight streams through a window in an old stone building with ivy-covered walls, creating magical dust particles in the air.

The Evening

We end up just walking around and enjoying the island whilst playing Pokémon Go. It starts to get quite chilly outside in the evening. We end up at China Famous Foods for dinner. Jeremy gets fried dumplings, sweet and sour pork, and fried rice. I order sweet and sour chicken and chicken fried rie.

We return to the hotel room where we watch What to Expect When You're Expecting. It feels fitting, considering we are in Greece for our second embryo transfer. Neither of us finish the movie - we fall asleep.
