Day 4 in Greece - 2024
IVF
I wake up at 10:30, eat breakfast, and bum a bit. I shower around 11:30, and then my taxi picks me up an hour later to take me to my first IVF appointment for my second embryo transfer.
I arrive and am disappointed to not be assigned to Thaleia. Thaleia is on parental leave, and I'm very excited for her, but sad for me. I have a new international coordinator assigned to me named Fotini. I go into the same doctor's office as my first round of IVF treatment, and have a vaginal ultrasound done. My uterus looks great and I'm told I can begin treatment. Hurrah!
Fotini gives me instructions to start taking estrogen pills, and I'm given a prescription to pick them up. I then go get my blood drawn to ensure all of my testing clears to begin treatment. The receptionist calls the taxi back or me, and I'm taken back to the apartment.
Jeremiah Arrives
Jeremy lands in Istanbul and messages me until he boards his last flight to Thessaloniki. I work from the apartment until he shows up a bit later via taxi from the airport. He's so hungry, so I take my lunch break from work. We walk around the neighborhood looking for a bite to eat, and we find a gyro place called Mimi's. It's a very small place, run by whom we assume are a husband and wife. There's two slabs of meat rotating behind the counter - pork and chicken. There's a deli counter of vegetables, condiments, and more. Jeremy orders a pork gyro with fries, and I get a slouvaki chicken gyro. We walk back to the apartment to eat.
After the meal, I finish up work, and we play a game of cribbage, which I win! Then, it's time for bed.
