Day 4

Sleeping In

Jeremiah and I are very tired. We both are snuggling in on Penelope's bed, a twin-sized bottom bunk, but we had slept rather well. Maybe we are just exhausted.

We go out into the rest of the house where my father, Jonah, is sitting on the off-white sofa doing stuff on his laptop. Lisa and Jennifer are in the playroom working on accepting an offer Jennifer has received on a property. I decide to sit on the sofa with my dad. Jeremiah sits in the same room on one of the red leather arm chairs.

San Francisco Zoo

My parents, Jeremiah, and I all leave the house around 10:00am to go to the San Francisco Zoo.

Chinatown

My dad meets us at the gift shop for the zoo when we are done adventuring amongst wild animals, and we load back up in the car and head over to Chinatown for lunch. We park and walk down to the infamous arch that symbolizes the entrance to Chinatown.

We have lunch at Far East Café, where we are served very large helpings of delicious food.

Red lanterns are hanging high up across the streets of Chinatowns, which is charming.

We stop in a souvenir shop and buy a nice set of chopsticks to use at home.

Pool Party

It is time to return to the San Jose area. My parents stop at a Safeway to purchase ingredients to make an apple pie, which is my request for my birthday dessert. We all return to the house.

Jeremiah and I immediately change into swim suits and hop into the pool. Omer gets super excited that we are in the pool and decides to join us. We engage in water-gun battles, toss a pink ball back and forth, as well as a football, and have races up and down the pool.

Pre-Birthday Shenanigans

After each of us has a chance to shower and get cleaned up after the pool party, my mom has Jeremiah and I open up Peter Rabbit figurines she has purchased for us. We hope to use them in a nursery, if we are ever blessed with a child.

We return to the bedroom we are staying in and find that Jennifer has put together a giant Happy Birthday sign, about three feet by eight feet large, made of tissue paper. She also has found two rainbow gnomes that she gifts to me, a guy and a girl, who are birthday themed.

Colorful birthday party decoration spelled out in tissue paper pom-poms on a wall.

Goodnight

By now it's the end of the day. Omer is a smidgen upset that we are sleeping in his room that he shares with Penelope, so Jeremiah reads him a bedtime story to help make up for it, and we all go to sleep shortly after.
